A rarity these days for film-makers to be proficient in varying genres. Director of acclaimed horror films "Shutter" and "Alone" carves a niche in his first romance comedy showcase that is very much fun and laughter inducing. Fans of Korean pop culture and TV dramas will not want to miss this.

A love story about two strangers who know nothing about each other and fall in love. He (Chantavit Dhanasevi) is a football fanatic, videogame nerd, social butterfly, comic lover, tired of love stories and a cynic of love while she (Neungtida Sophon) is Korean soap opera fan, beef lover, devout radio station listener, avid book reader, and homebody. Together, they are perfect strangers who will travel, eat, share a room, and talk about anything and everything including each others top secrets.

Frankly speaking, upon knowing that Director Banjong Pisanthanakun (of Shutter and Alone fame) is doing a romance comedy, I'm really not that surprised. In fact I held high hopes as I've seen what he's capable of with his comedy-horror film segments in "4bia" and its sequel "Phobia 2". With a very good mix of humour and spooks for these two short films, he finally ventures away from horror for the first time with good results.

Capitalising upon his good comic sense of humour, he has written some very engaging screenplay together with his male lead Dhanasevi, which probably explains why he seems so natural in his wonderful role performance as the irritating cynic who meets a pure-hearted homely girl crazy over Korean dramas in South Korea.

Besides the hilarious and sparkling presence of Dhanasevi, new face Sophon (a.k.a NooNa) earns a great first feature grade for her film resume. Appearing blissful and bubbly while maintaining a girl-next-door image that appeals to the boys out there, she is one mesmerising newcomer to watch out for. When it comes to the sentimental scenes where she has to get wet in tears, she pulls it off like a seasoned natural (possibly with an acting coach as credited in the film).

Likely to be a reflection of the current Korean television drama craze that has overwhelmed Asian countries like Thailand, it sets off to be some sort of a Korean drama spoof attempting to poke fun at it through the cynicism of Dhanasevi. When paired with Korean drama lover NooNa, their interactions give rise to an influential synergetic ensemble that easily captivates our hearts. Thanks to some really interesting writing, this film is filled with several comical scenarios that got us blatantly laughing out loud.

It's really all about the fun we enjoy from them.

Of course, what's a rom-com without the soppy melodrama? Unnecessarily long to cause a minor draggy feel, this is where we discover the Director's limitations of inexperience with romance. However, the romance plot elements somewhat reflect scenarios that are often common of couples in real life. Their development gets me nodding in agreement at times as I can totally relate couples around me to them, a credit that I have to give Pisanthanakun for.

Both of them came to South Korea from different backgrounds under different scenarios, but what brought them together is the tiny but definitive time span that seals their fate together. Two heartbroken persons meeting and having each other in a foreign land to discover true joys of life, every condition that has to be right are fulfilled.

Fate is an uncanny affair (we know it's scripted but...).

Standing amidst the extensive humour, fun, and melodrama, one gets truly influenced to hold desires to visit South Korea with a prominent feature of South Korean culture and her scenic urban cityscape and snowscape. So that means even if you don't buy the brand of romance and humour that they are selling, you'll still get to enjoy a cultural tour in South Korea.

Fun-filled culture exchange makes for good film material.

The Tiger’s Nest also called Paro Taktsang and locally known as the Taktsang Dzong is a prominent monastery in the upper Paro valley, Bhutan, built in 1692. It was built around the Taktsang Senge Samdup cave where Guru Padmasambhava is said to have meditated for three months in the 8th century. Padmasambhava is credited with introducing Buddhism to Bhutan and he is considered the tutelary deity of the country. Today, Paro Taktsang is the best known of the thirteen taktsang or “tiger lair” caves in which he meditated.

Jucelino Nobrega da Luz: A Modern Day Nostradamus?
This thing has taken our school alarmed. It was started in a roaming text messages saying that there will be an earthquake on July 18. Then our teacher told this just yesterday. I thought that that is just a joke. But our school was alarmed. And I think to myself: Is this true?

Well, just want to share this to all.
Uncanny Prophesy: What will happen to the world at 2008?
Mr. Jucelino Nobrega da Luz is a Brazilian, born in 1960, 48 years old now. He is a teacher, another normal citizen having a very poor life with his wife and kids. All the events which Mr. Jucelino predicted had clear indications of the year, month and dates of the disasters. In case any third party wants to confirm the facticity of his prophecy, Mr. Jucelino always put the story which he predicted to the notarization office or post office for approval.
Somebody asked him, how old did he start the prophesy dream, and he answered: 9 years old. From 1969, he dreamt 3 events a day, sometimes 9, the number of times he dream differs every day. He said all the prophecy dreams appear automatically in his dream. When Mr. Jucelino was 19 years old, he met the famous Brazilian prophecy Saint Mr. Franciscoshabiz, after which the frequency of worldwide disaster events increased in his prophecy dreams. Twice, Mr. Franciscoshabiz was the candidate for the Nobel Prize: he is a very famous differential functional person, at the same time he is also a Charitarian.
The events which Mr. Jucelino predicted are already more than 80,000. Let’s first look at a few big worldwide events and huge disaster from his prophesy…

* The second attack of World Trade Center, it is 911
Jucelino sent the warning letter to the president of USA in 1989. The warning letter was also published at a notarization office which was run by Mr. Klicheeba in the town of Palana. This warning letter also predicted that the World Trade Center will get the first attack in 1993, though there was no exact date, but the second attack was clearly told 11th September,2001. Everyone knew the result; the first attack was happened on 26th Feb. 1993, three-and-a-half year after the warning letter was sent out. The parking place was blown up and many people were injured.
The second attack happened on 11th Sept.2001, 13 years after the warning letter was sent out, it was the 911.
The exclamatory thing is, this prophecy also told about the Afghanistan and Iraq war after 911. After Iraq lost, the President Haisan will run to Adawr in the middle of Iraq etc. are all in the letter, like you all know, the events in the prediction letter happened one by one.
* Sumatra Indonesia earthquake Juseleeno sent the warning letter about the Indonesia Sumatra Earthquake to the India Embassy on 16th September, 1996, about 8 years before the disaster. This warning letter predicted that there will be 8.9 earthquake in Aceh Indonesia on the morning of 26th December,2004. India and Indonesia will be attacked by the tsunami. He sent the warning letter to the President of Indonesia on 30th April, 1997. The letter said, ‘I dreamt that on 7:00am 26th Dec, 2004, South Asia will be attacked by 8.9 earthquake, and the tsunami. The area will be Aceh Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Maladiv, Bombay. And many people will be dead…
The result: the earthquake happened at 7:58am 26th Dec. More than 200,000 people were dead, the biggest tsunami was about 30 meters, a lot of people were killed by the tsunami. He also sent the same letter to Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand and other embassies. He also got the thanks letter from these countries.
The thanks letter from Meigawadi said ‘about the 2004 earthquake and tsunami, to prevent the disaster, we must do a lot of things, but on another hand, we can do nothing’. The thanks letter from Indonesia Embassy said ‘…..we will send this letter to our government, if you have any update information, please let us know’.
From above information, Jucelino already predicted that there will be more than 200,000 people killed in the tsunami and earthquake 8 years before the disaster. He sent the warning letter with detailed date on to these countries, but nobody took any preventive measures.
The writer pick up a few events which Jucelino predicted for the future.

2007
- Tornado attacked Brazil, thousands people killed.
- 2007 or July of 2008: Japan will experience an earthquake and 30 meters tsunami.
- Japan will get earthquake and typhoon in October. He predicted that the huge typhoon will happen on 26th October in the warning letter.
- USA will get the terror attack on 17th December. 2008
- Will find the medicine for AIDS and Dengue
- 18th July, Philippines will get 8.1 earthquake, thousands people will die
- The Empire State Building New York will get terror attack in September.
- 13th of September, China will get 9.1 earthquake in Nanning and Hainan, at the same time will get 30 meters Tsunami, millions people will die, the tsunami may go to Japan directly.

2009
- 25th January: 8.9 earthquake will hit Japan, hundreds of thousands of people will die.
- November: Japan will be hit by an earthquake again. Thousands of people will die in this disaster.
- Brazilian government cannot pay the insurance because of financal problems. Riots will occur.
- 24th August: Istanbul, Turkey will be hit by a 8.9 earthquake. The road will be parted.
- 16th December: Sumatra, Indonesia will be hit by a 7.8 earthquake. Thousands of people will die.

2010
- The temperature will reach 58 degrees in many countries of Africa. At the same time, there will a lack of water.
- The temperature in Africa will reach 58 degrees. It is an unbelievable number, but in May 2007, people who travelled around Africa said the temperature in Greece and Turkey was already 39-40 degrees, Iraq and Arabia was about 45-46 degrees. It is possible to happen in the summer but not in May. We can imagine that in the summer of 2010, the world will become warmer and Africa will get the high temperature.

2011

The name of tornado which will attack Brazil, and thousands of people will be killed, the name of infectious disease (ALS), the name for San Francisco’s earthquake (the Big One) and etc. events.

2012
-The area of globe will be extended regarding the aridity and become desert.
- From 2015 till 2020, the trees will disappear in Amazon.
- From 6th Dec. the sky will start the black cloud time. It is called weather cloudy.
- Human start dying because of the infectious disease’s spreading.

2013
- Find the treatment for cancer except for brain cancer.
- Bahamas of West Indies, from 1st Nov. till 25th, the Volcano will erupt and bring about the earthquake, followed by a 150 meters huge tsunami.
- About 80 meters tsunami will go to Caribbean.
- About 15 kilometer to 20 kilometer to USA , Brazil and other countries.
- The sea will go down 6 meters before the tsunami and the birds will move away too. Mr.Juseleeno predicted that when the cats and dogs know the disaster is coming, they want to get away from the venue, they will have strange behaviors 24 hours before the disaster, so we can use that for the standard of judgement.

2014
- The small planet will be closer to the earth and collide, the exist of this small planet will influence the issue of human live.

2015
- In November, the average temperature will reach 59 degrees, many people will die, the world confusion will be bigger.

2016
- In the middle of April, huge typhoon will attack some cities of China, about one thousand people will be killed.

2018

Will 2008 Beijing Olympic Game be held smoothly?
As above said, in 2008, China will get 9.1 earthquake and more than millions people will die. According to Mr. Jucelino’s prediction that the earth quake will be on 13th September, 2008, and the Olympic will be held on 8th – 24th August, the earthquake will happen after the Olympic. However, before the big earthquake, there will be a lot of small earthquakes, which will make the country and the people upset. There will be a lot of small earthquakes before the big one, although Juseleeno didn’t predict the exact dates, but if we presume that the small earthquakes happen one or two months before and during the Olympic, it may make the host and athletes give up. When the writer read this prophecy from Jucelino, he suddenly remember the space time traveler John Titoer’s last word ‘2004 Athens Olympic Game will be last one.’
But, if the earthquake is in the south of China, Nanning and Hai Nan, and there are no Olympic games, the Beijing Olympic Game will close successfully. But the problem is that the Chinese government only cares about the reputation and success of the Olympic games, ignores the small earthquakes, and makes no preparation for the big one. China may control the report, close all news. If so, there will be a big disaster as the prophecy predicted. In Mr. Jusclino’s warning letter, it said ‘if there is no preparation to protect the citizens, will get huge loss’.
Mr. Jucelino also predicted that glacier period is coming.
He also has the right prophecy for the weather, one of them is, in 2003, Europe got high temperature. 29th October, 2001, the warning letter said ‘the nature world will beat back to the world, the temperature of France, Germany and Portugal will become higher, more than ten thousand people will die, this disaster will happen between 2003 and 2004. The truth is, the temperature in the summer of 2003 was the highest, one which they’ve never had in Europe. About 35 000 people were dead, especially in France and Germany; about 14,000 people dead in France and 7,000 people dead in Germany.
From Mr. Jucelino’s prophecy, the earth temperature will get higher every year, until 2012, the temperature in Africa will reach 58 degrees and at the same time, face serious water shortage. The temperature will continue to increase, until 2015, the average temperature of the earth will reach 59 degrees, a lot of people will die, send fear in the hearts of people all over the world. If this is the truth, the countries will stand against each other because of the aridity and shortage of food.
Mr. Jecelino also predicted that there will be some new wars because of the aridity, but he didn’t have clear prophecy, but he felt it won’t be the normal war.
Anyway, the temperature is getting higher is not like the aerography said (the speed is very slow); in fact, temperatures are rising rapidly. However the warmness seems not always incessant, after the high temperature, a big part of the ice of Greenland and South Pole will melt and go to the sea. The circulation of the sea will be lower and become colder; it means a new glacier time.
In Jucelino’s prophecy, it also said that after 2027, there will be a new glacier. Details of the prophecy as below:
The volcano of America yellow park will erupt, the smoke and magma will go 1,600 kilometer far, Kansas, Nebraska, Montana will all get damaged. The eruption of the volcano is not only in Yellow park, but also in some other places in the world. These smoke will block out the sun, the circulation of see will stagnate and active the cold phenomena.
As we all know, the formal president Gore dedicate on study of earth temperature, his famous book ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ was made to a movie, which achieved the Oscar award. 19 years ago, Mr. Jucelino predicted about this. The phophecy had been published on Moon Magazine in June, in the end of May.
According the letter which Jucelino sent to Gore, this prophecy letter already informed Gore that from 1993 to 2001, he won’t be the vice-president anymore. Instead, he will be dedicated to the protection of the world environment, and he will write a book ‘An Inconvenient Truth’. The English letter Jucelino wrote to Gore also told him the book’s title and that he will get the 2007 Nobel award.
There are not much time for human, from December, 2007, the Black Cloud will extend all over the world. As Mr. Jucelino predicted, if human still keep the activities, human will have a terrible time from 2008 till 2012, the black cloud will fill the sky before the disaster. If we want the disaster and war stay away from us, the deadline for human is the end of 2007. Mr. Jucelino expects the world consciousness to change in the end of 2007.
Some sites says it is a hoax. Yet there are websites that believes in this. As for me, we really don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow or the day after. Whether the email is true or just a hoax, I believe that in our everyday life, prayers are still our best armour. Keep the faith burning in our heart. Have faith and trust to our One Mighty God.

The amazed woman asked if she got three wishes.

The genie said, "Nope, sorry, three-wish genies are a storybook myth. I'm a one-wish genie. So... what'll it be?"

The woman did not hesitate.
